I have all of the symptoms of ms, I was wondering if their were any special nueral protective qualities to either styles of the diet. For instance i know that a ketogenic diet has been proven to protect against seizures

Yes, you have to see her TED talk. http://tedxtalks.ted.com/video/TEDxIowaCity-Dr-Terry-Wahls-Min Her precise protocol is hard to determine just from this talk, but it makes it sound worth chasing down! Her diet is non-standard paleo, and she also does a bunch of other things besides diet which she feels to be very important too.

She probably eats about 100 gr of net carbs per day, which is not ketogenic. She eats lots of fruits.

If you've not heard of Dr Terry Wahls, and her story go to the following podcast, and/or her TED talk. She managed her MS via diet and without drugs. The core of her diet is VLC or ketogenic, and paleo.

As you have probably seen posted here before, paleo is neither high or low carb by default, but it is carb conscious, by which I mean carbs should only be eaten when they are needed (i.e. high activity levels). Excess carbs has been shown to provoke an systemic inflammatory response over time, which is definitely something you want to avoid if you have symptoms of MS. So I would advise LC/VLC, at least for a while, and see how it affects your symptoms. More important than this though is that you're avoiding gluten and other harmflu lectins, processed vegetable oils and maintaining a good omega3:6 ratio.
