Yes, if you're entering ketosis for the first time, as soon as your mitochondria start noticing the new fuel source, they'll switch to using it, when they do, the acetone breath will go away. Takes a few days upto a week or two.

tatical energy is a survial mechanism. Your body responds because it needs to in order to get more energy (food). Carbs are not the devil, 5 day fasts are not health seeking.

Get more physical activity rather than cutting more calories. I don't see any reason (save medical emergencies) that an adult should go below 1,200 calories per day.
