Nightime Frequent Urination

Have been on keto for 5 months but have now started excessive nightime urination and dont know what I could be doing wrong? My sodium intake is 4-5 gms, pot 1 gm, mag 300mg and cal 300 mg. I stop drinking liquids after 6pm. As I mentioned, this has just started to happen some 2 weeks ago. If it helps, I have also started leg cramping at night as well. Any advice?

Excessive urination may also be caused by the consumption of nitrogenous plant foods such as nuts, beans and leaves as their amino acid profile doesn't usually match our requirements and the function of urination is to throw out excess nitrogen.

It could be your kidneys. Go see a doctor. Don't forget to mention the leg cramping. If you have the time before your appointment, keep a 'fluid diary', counting everything that goes in and out for a couple of days. I use measuring jugs like the ones for cooking, and put the data on a spreadsheet. Best wishes.
