I had joint pain when I was your age, and it's continued off and on into my adulthood. Have you seen a doctor? "Major," to me, means that you should be bringing in help!

Anyway, if you're female, it could be related to your hormones changing. (I suppose it could be if you were male, too.) If you were my kid, I'd start trying to eliminate foods like dairy and wheat, and see if affected the pain. I'd also probably look into vitamins, especially vitamin D.

That being said, make sure you're talking to your parents and a medical professional about this--not just a message board of random strangers on the internet whose only medical expertise might be that they've been on the planet longer than you.

Just some quick advice if you need to relieve the pain, try taking a warm Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) bath. It reduces inflammation and calms nerves.
