I saw the "Beef Jerky How-To" thread but I wanted to get a little more specific with what people are using as seasonings and marinades for their beef jerky. I'm starting to turn some heads toward paleo with some good batches of grass fed london... (more)
Hi, Have been looking for beef jerky in the stores (I`m from Norway) but I cant find any without sugar ect added. In the pets store I found a lot of dried heart/stomach ect that was witout any added ingridients, just 100% natural. It wasn`t too... (more)
I had a cousin who ate dog jerky, saying it was as tasty as the human stuff but at half the price. Never got sick from it.
I went to many of the links on this thread: http://paleohacks.com/questions/430/online-source-to-buy-good-paleo-friendly-beef-jerky#axzz1GhpAOq9H But apparently shipping jerky to Canada is a paperwork nightmare - awesome! Looking for a Canadian... (more)
I'm thinking of getting a dehydrator for making jerky and dried fruit, since I'm eating a fair bit of jerky these days and I`m not sure making it in the oven is that efficient. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Hey Everyone, Love all of the awesome info and people on here! I just got a dehydrator and have been trying to modify some book found jerky recipes (to a more paleo friendly format) with mild success. I was wondering if anyone would be willing... (more)
I'm a big fan of beef jerky. However, the stuff that's easy to find is loaded with junk ingredients -- sugar, MSG, soy, preservatives, etc.. Anyone know of a good online supplier where I can get more natural stuff? I'm aware that it's possible... (more)
Never made jerky before. I'm thinking beef to start with as it's the easiest meat to get. But I have no idea what cut of beef would be best for making jerky. What sort of cut is ideal? And what would be the cheapest one that would still make... (more)
I just build a jerky-maker for 7 euros out of a cardboard box, some skewers and a light bulb. Take a look :) http://www.mypaleokitchen.com/?p=166
I'm going on vacation to Italy where eggs for breakfast is basically unheard of. I'm going to be on the move constantly, so I planned to bring a bunch of Steve's Paleostix with me to eat in the mornings when I'm used to having protein. The problem... (more)
Have any of you guys tried this brand before? I just tried their Cherry BBQ pork one and am blown away. To be honest, I've never had jerky before (I wasn't a huge meat eater before going Paleo, so the idea of dried meat kind of skeeved me out)... (more)

I have to spend 2 months out in the field doing a mixture of hiking and hitting up small towns in rural South America for my research. I'm planning on using it as an opportunity to REALLY get paleo, like as in, maybe not even bring shampoo or... (more)
Im a bit confused about this issue. So the point of going to all the laborious trouble of making pemmican is to separate the fat so it doesn't go rancid, render it to oil, and add it back. But if the fat goes rancid in the first place, what... (more)
I've made a nice big dehydrator, and I'm gonna make my own Jerky and Pemican for paleo backpacking use. I know the recommendation is to use/dry only the lean parts, as the fat spoils (but the rendered oil/tallow added back doesn't) I figure I... (more)
