Hi everyone! My name is Susan and I am still fairly new to the whole Paleo lifestyle. I am 45 and began eating Paleo in the beginning of June 2014. I am from Louisiana so I am challenged by lots of delicious food options, mostly fried or breaded. My biggest struggle has been craving bread and cookies. I have discovered that if I make my breakfasts and lunches on Sunday tha I can easily stick to Paleo eating during the day. At night, I have more time so I usually grill or bake meats and fresh veggies. My ultimate challenge each week is feeling like I have just ingested poison when I have a Cheat Night. I literally feel like Im being stabbed in the stomach after eating pizza, pasta, bread, rice, etc. It is terrible. I have been told that it is neccessary to eat some additional carbs once a week to allow my system to reset. Is there a less painful way to accomplish this?

Like Jake mentioned above, where did you get the information? When you refer to eating additional carbs, are you talking about "cheat days" or something similar?

I've never seen in any of the paleo books I've read that you have to reset your body, much less with grain-based carbs.  Where did you get this information?
