Completely binged IF- WHOAAA

So this may have been the biggest binge I've had since going Paleo: my stomach for reference is SO FULL that I can't breathe. Nothing I ate was considered "SAD" but it was a lot nonetheless. I've been doing IF for the past week 16 hours fasted 8 hours eating and the afternoon goes great. The nighttime I eat like an absolute animal and find it hard to stop (even though I stop by the end of my eating window) which is 12-8 pm. I just ate so much that my stomach is hurting but I found myself to be completely starving. It may be because of my monthly cycle (which is approaching) but I just feel like crap now. Does this happen to people who do IF and are starting out or are my hormones just raging?

UGH!!

I believe I heard somewhere that women don't get the extra fat burning effect that men do when IF'ing. Don't quote me on that though. Yeah, nature does seem to want you guys eating constantly.

I definitely think I was REALLY hungry today. I also think that my body kind of freaks out that it's not going to be eating for a while so it tries to compensate at the end of the night. This happened to me last night too and I couldn't control it. Maybe it's a mental thing, maybe I'm psyching myself out-I don't know- I do know that the first few days I was on it I didn't experience any blood sugar (insulin) drops or sensitivity or anything which I usually don't so I know I'm okay in a fasted state-but when I DO finally eat, it's like a rampage of anything (paleo) I can get in my mouth

IF seems to have mixed results for women, as they are more sensitive to this. I have tried IF, but it was a no-go. I'd go nuts on food.

Try Eat, Stop, Eat. It works for me because the next day I can eat my three meals a day at conventional times. I've had some pretty mean gains with this one.

I really don't think it's your period. During my period, I do eat a bit more, but that's because I find that I crave the dense nutrients found in meat and organs. I really abhor the taste of deer liver, but my body goes wild for it.

Up your fat intake. This will really help if you're gonna stick with IF. This is the key. Really eat a nice chunk of juicy steak. Eat that yummy bacon. It'll help curb hunger and make you generate a lot of heat, which makes you want to run through the woods.

I've thought about IF and bingeing for a while now. I've had a few occurrences like you have and think IF, while not "responsible", could play upon something in certain people. I've been thinking that I'm going to keep the ending time constant - and earlier, say 6 PM - and add a breakfast meal. Don't dwell too much on this binge but ask yourself some questions: Was it because I was starving? Was I under stress or feeling a certain emotion? Did one food in particular set me off?

If you think it was due to IF just quit doing it or modify it, and good luck.

I'm sorry to say you have a clear eating disorder and you need to talk to someone, a therapist or someone close to you, before you cause yourself serious harm. And IMO, "intermittent fasting" is just a nice way of saying you starve yourself. I realize that's not a popular opinion to have on this site but I stand by it. Please get help.
