What kind of carb intake would you recommend for someone who's insulin resistant but doesn't want to go into ketosis?

I've lost weight effortlessly on a very low carb diet, but I have liver disease and feel awful on that type of eating plan. I also can't tolerate more than 20 grams of carbs per meal. Obviously, I need calories from fat or carbs but can't tolerate either macronutrient. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Eating your carbs around your workout would help. In that vein you should be exercising to improve insulin sensitivity. Why is it you have issue with fat again?

i eat a handful of walnuts and almonds every now and then, but i get loose stools if they become a staple of my diet. since my body can't process fat very well, how do i get enough calories from carbs without causing insulin problems? a sweet potato has around 200 calories.

I'd recommend anyone who is trying to increase Leptin **Sensitivity** to do more than just diet, namely exercise.

Tubers, fruits, nuts, seeds, and vegetables equaling greater than 50g and bellow whatever level leaves you with ill effect (150g is a good enough starting point to work from).

Maybe try mixing in some coconut oil to your tubers as you don't don't need bile to digest the mct's in coconuts.
