Omega 6 fatty acids are NOT inflammatory!

The synthetic antioxidants, aldehydes, peroxides and hydroperoxides in processed oils is what causes inflammation.

Would be great if Paleo followers would stop regurgitating nonsense. Especially the Omega ratio nonsense that has absolutely no validity in biochemistry except the flawed nutritional science.

For those who are still defending their indoctrination; how does more Omega 6 fatty acids than Omega 3 fatty acids stored in cell membranes cause inflammation?

The only safe oil is extra virgin olive oil from a reputable source.

I've consumed enough non-rancid whole nuts and seeds; they are a very beneficial source of fuel.

Insulin sensitivity improves with MUFAs: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s001250051620 http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/002604959290111M

MUFAs are more easily metabolized for energy than saturated fats: http://europepmc.org/abstract/MED/12037652

Replacing saturated fat with MUFAs can reduce body weight (and improve other parameters) in obese subjects without reducing energy intake: http://journals.cambridge.org/download.php?file=%2FBJN%2FBJN90_03%2FS0007114503001788a.pdf&code=1973abcb1f2bdaea3a840b894cced959

I like SF a lot, but I do prefer MUFA

I would like to see that evidence. MUFA used to be no better or worse than SFA. What has changed?

You might be right. But what I do know is that monounsaturated fat is the way to go. It's the safest fat to consume in my opinion, judging from all the evidence out there. Plenty of olive oil for me.
