Foods that are generally the most inflammation causing?

I just found out that I have early stages of osteoarthritis in my hand. I was hoping to eliminate one food at a time to see what helps. I am wondering if there might be a consensus on which AIP foods are the "worst" offenders for inflammation, or is it highly individual?

Thank you!

Tough one...

Have you tried not eating at all for a few weeks? That could help.

:D Kidding, not eating may lead to death, please consult a doctor before you starve yourself.

A lot more fat of course, bacon fat, animal fat in general. Some sweet potatoes. And heavy whipping cream. I also eat a LOT of cucumbers lately. So any of those could be the culprit I suppose. I did stop eating cheese though, stopped soy, and most of the other SAD foods, definitely all grains and beans. I definitely got less puffy. I'm careful about not overdoing nuts, I really only eat almond butter (small quantities) and almond flour.

A good compromise. As far as I know almost no one will be allergic to the yolks, YMMV as always.

What did you add into your diet that wasn't there before when you went paleo? Some also possible allergins from paleo may be potatoes or nuts. Also your omega ratio comes into play, and if your upping your pork/eggs/nuts and getting a ton of omega 6 and no omega 3 could cause inflammation.

Oh please not eggs! :-( What is your opinion on just eliminating the whites? As it is right now I have a 2:1 ratio, for every full eggs I consume I only eat a yolk the next time.

Everything else I eliminated 2 months ago, so I figure I'm already less inflammed. What's odd is that once I went with a Paleo/Primal diet, that's when this arthritis REALLY showed up!

There are numerous websites on high inflammation foods. Yes, you need to find out what your triggers are but there are some that you would never know. It's best to stay away from the obvious ones that are listed on those sites.

I imagine as you said it would be dictated by the individual, for instance one person may be fine with eggs and another may have a severe alergic reaction.

As far as practical advice I would eliminate things that are more likely to be inflammatory, reducing omega 6 and upping omega 3 for instance. Also eliminating possible alergins, grains, peanuts, dairy, eggs would be on the top of my list of things to check/remove.
