Can grains cause tonsilitis?

I am reading The Paleo Solution and the section about grains causing inflammation throughout the body.

My question is could this be a cause for tonsilitis? I realise tonsilitis is an infection but could grains consumed on a mainly paleo diet perhaps instigate this by causing inflammation and irritation which leads to infection?

most likely it causes inflammation which pushes him over a threshold. I used to get 4-5 sinus infections per year. Haven't had a single bout in almost 2 years.

When my 9-year-old consumes wheat, within 3 days he has a severe sinus infection. It took a few times for us to make the connection. I don't think the wheat causes the infection directly, but it knocks his immune system down and allows bacteria to take hold.
