Another noobie question - 1+ Week on Paleo

I started semi-Paleo last Monday 3/25. I gradually cut back on carbs, dairy, and sugar while simultaneously upping my vegetable & fruit intake. The meat consumption stayed the same and I never ate processed food to begin with, so that wasn't a big deal. I did however use to consume a LOT of dairy, grains and a good amount of sugar.

I don't feel well. I honestly feel like how most of you describe feeling PRE-Paleo: Bloated, gassy, yucky, sick. I even gained two pounds. Weight wasn't the reason I got on this (skin problems was) but I'm not looking to GAIN weight, either.

Does this feeling go away?? I miss eating a bowl of soothing, comforting pasta with butter. That never hurt my stomach before (but I think it made my face real greasy lol). THanks in advance.

Yes, I have. Funny how trying to eat healthier I actually got away from my main criteria in the food I eat: eat UNprocessed!! Thanks so much for the feedback. It's helping a lot!

CD - I always tried to eat food that was minimally processed, as close to natural as possible (ie, the least amount of ingredients in the list and homemade if at all possible).

Have you been eating a lot of coconut milk, specifically? Or "ice cream" or other processed products like that? They often contain guar gum, which f*cks people up. If real, raw coconut or cocounut water doesn't make you feel that way, but "milk" does, that's the likely culprit.

COCONUT!!!! I adore coconut, but lately I have been eating it A LOT more than usual, to make up for the dairy I've been missing. I'll keep an eye on that. Thank you!!

Did you eat a lot of grains that were properly prepared or were they processed? Your question is confusing me.

You've gained two pounds because you are bloated - you likely haven't changed you're body's actual physical mass in that short a time.

You need to ask yourself why you are bloated. This kind of bloating is not normal - it shouldn't have arrived, let alone having to ask when it will go away. ;-) This is likely not from a lack of something (the greasy pasta you claim to love), but rather something you added - those fruits and veggies. So, specifically, what fruits and veggies have you started eating?

Some people react badly to certain fruits and veggies. Broccoli (and related) veggies make me very, very bloated, for example (as does dairy, and a few other foods). A FODMAPs restriction diet helped me figure that out. You may or may not have some FODMAPs type issues, but undoubtedly, you are reacting poorly to a food you introduced.
