Answered on September 12, 2014

I`m addicted to iherb. I buy a lot of spices, jojoba oil, coconut aminos etc.

What is your favourite (paleo) products from iherb?

Paul- if there's any amount of vitamins and such, it has to be under a certain limit, or it's regulated. Cod liver oil can be outside the German limits. It might have gotten picked up at customs.

Interesting, I'll check it out the next time I buy something. Since you're outside the US, how long do you need to wait for delivery? I've recently ordered 2 supps on 2/25/2012 and they shipped the next day. It hasn't arrived yet. I live in Germany.

Gelatin, retinol, niacinimade, vitamin D3, vitamin k2 mk4, magnesium oil, baking soda, bone meal, apple cider vinegar, unrefined sugar, sangre de grado, cod liver oil (I'm minimizing that), ...

Basically all my supplements and a lot of random stuff I try. iHerb is my favorite online store of all time. I find everything I need there, and at really low prices. I just wish the reviews where a bit more realistic. Everything looks like a miracle product on there ("this gave me amazing libido", "this cured my cancer", "this resurrected my dead dog", ...). I've started ignoring all positive reviews now, as I'd be buying everything otherwise.

It's also cool that they give little gifts each time, like green tea or samples. I always give it to my mother so she's happy :P.

Some things I've bought lately:

Fat:

Real extra virgin olive oil from California Olive Ranch and Gaea.

I recommend reading Great Olive Oils of the World where both these brands are mentioned, and the Buyer's Guide. It's worth noting that olive oil with an expiration date that is two years away is more likely to be fresh.

Jungle Products Red Palm Oil and Coconut Oil

Now Foods Macadamia Nut Oil

Other:

Wild Planet, Wild Sardines In Spring Water

Chocolate - especially Green & Black's (70%) (85%) and Endangered Species (88%)

Eden Foods, Organic Tamari Soy Sauce

Really Raw Honey - Flower flavored candy. There's many other good honeys there as well.

French artisan sea salt - Le Saunier de Camargue, Fleur de Sel

Thickeners:

Arrowroot & Kuzu Root Starch

Sushi kit:

Nori sheets, Wasabi Powder, Brown Rice Vinegar, Kombu Sea Vegetable

By the way, my referral code is NAP867 if anyone wants $5 off their first order.

I get loads from there as there are so many things I just can't find here in Australia. Even with shipping, it's reasonable and only takes a few days for my parcel to arrive!

I get: - Nutiva Coconut oil, Coconut flakes, Coconut aminos, Salt, vitamin D, Magnesium, Larabars, Avocado oil, and in my last order, I was excited to buy this unusual herb I keep reading about on US sites - Cilantro - only to find out that's American for Coriander! I already had lots of that!

I buy brain nutritions and enhancers such as Bacopa, Omega-3, Lecithin, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Lion's Mane to improve cognitive functions and increase problem-solving ability.

Bacopa: It is perennial plant that grows throughout Southern Asia. Bacopa occurs naturally in India and has been used there for centuries to improve mental activities. It is one of the best herbal supplements in my point of view. I take one caplet per day at morning to start my engine. In my case Bacopa promotes learning, supports mental alertness and enhance my memory potential.

Omega-3: Omega-3 is the best brain food of all. Scientific research shows that EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty may help to heal brain injury. Omega-3 fatty acids may also reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Omega-3 maintain brain functions and lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Lion's Mane: It is medicinal mushroom that has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese and Japanese herbalism to support immune health. Recent research has focused on its ability to stimulate the synthesis of nerve growth factor (NGF), which may protect nerves in the brain and body from deterioration associated with aging while improving cognitive function. Preliminary research shows that Lion's Mane have even ability to protect against cancer. In my life I have discovered many benefits from Lion's Mane. First of all I noticed how it calms the digestive system very smoothly. That means no more stomach ache. Secondly it truly supports concentration and focus. Learning new information is easier with Lion's Mane. Currently I take one tablet twice a day.

I order a lot of sports supplements from them. I find that their cheaper brands (Now Sports and Jarrow Formulas are always on sale) are actually better than some of the better known, and much more expensive, brands. The selection they offer is astounding, the prices are competitive, and what they ask for international shipping is insignificant (free on all orders over 40$ at the moment. My last order cost 4$ to ship because I wasn't aware of the 40$ deal and so I ordered less than I would have otherwise).

Use discount code KOL914 if you like. That will get you a 10$ discount on your first order of over 40$ and an additional 5% off if your order is over 60$.
