Taking opium and nausea

so I have this really really bad IBS (diarrhea, cramps, bloating, loud noises) and absolutely nothing helps (yes, I am perfectly paleo and dairy/sugar/wheat/nighshades-free and sleeping enough). A few days ago, a doctor have me an opium tincture so at least the diarrhea would stopf because next week I'm writing my finals in school and I can't just go to the bathroom every few minutes. He told me to have 2x5 drops, but this changed nothing, so I called another doctor (a pro-paleo-gastroenterologist and a really wise person) and he said I should try more, up to 3x20 drops is still okay. I'm at 2x10 now, there are still those dying-whale-noises from my tummy but it has gotten better. Except one thing: Opium gives me real bad nausea. Is there anything I can take or do to stop this? Don't want to vomit when writing those exams :((

Bananas work very best for me, i love them, but i can't eat them all the time and nothing else. How does one know if he can tolerate a food? Because if i have problem i NEVER know which food caused it.

Vaporize organic weed, eat mostly meat. With that combo, I poop like a ghost. Study high, test high, lol.

Donnatal? Mesalazine? Better yet: Plain old Imodium? It's also an opioid. It just doesn't have the same CNS effects.

I say this wherever applicable: Do drugs, not vegetables.

I don't know, but if you haven't looked into FODMAPS yet, I encourage you to do so. Also see what Melissa does. Except for the weird decision to define herself against a movement she was a big part of. Sigh, most folks just don't get anarchy. Anyway, she mentions some of the stuff she does to stay healthy in that post.

BRAT, Bananas, rice, apples, toast. Those are foods I remember being fed when I had diarrhea. I feel like there might be something diet related causing your problem though, even if you are perfect Paleo. For example, I can't eat non-grassfed beef because the corn the animal is fed makes me ill. I also can't eat a lot of veggies in one sitting. Try some bananas at least and see how you feel.

Have you tried white rice? Nothing else helps firm things up for me as well as rice does.

Also, do you feel there is a strong stress-diarrhea connection? If so, might want to tackle that angle with hypnotherapy, meditation etc.

Sorry I can't comment on opium, hadn't heard of that as a treatment.

You could try ginger tea.

...and has your doctor tested a stool sample to rule out a bacterial infection or parasites?
