I've been on and off a Paleo diet for a few years now. By on and off, I mean I haven't eaten grains or legumes at all in that time, but I go through phases of eating grass-fed dairy. The problem is I can't seem to stop some level of compulsive... (more)

Hello! I've been paleo for about 9 months now, and every now and then, I have issues maintaining my weight. This has been an issue since before I started paleo, but paleo has made it more difficult, I think. I am fairly skinny at ~150 pounds and... (more)
Hi I just bought a block of creamed coconut block yesterday, and it tasted really sweet when I bit into a chunk of it. The ingredients list says 100% coconut - so I was wondering if it might be safe to consume? I've been on Paleo for 4 weeks now,... (more)

When I eat meat, I feel healthy and "alive." When I eat plants, I feel like I just ate twigs and leaves. The only reason plants exist is to decorate my meat with.

I have been increasing my protein a bit and I find I get extremely hungry 1/2 an hour after a meal rich in protein. A carb/fat combo with 2 ounces of meat doesn't give me the same effect. Even if I eat it with a ton of fat I still get very hungry.... (more)
I think if you load on the protein, your body craves carbs--instant energy with which to digest all that protein. Just my theory. I've noticed the same effect with carb-less meals.

When I first started paleo, it was awesome--I wasn't hungry ever, and I lost 20 pounds in the process. However, after a year, I gained everything back. Part of the reason was that I was NEVER hungry, but I'd sometimes feel lightheaded and weak, so... (more)
All the time I consume either creamed coconut or nuts I get a an empty feeling in my stomach like an hour after. I don't feel week, my energy levels are quite good, but my stomach just feels empty. What would cause this?
Could it be due to the fiber content? Nuts and creamed coconut are both faily high in insoluble fiber. I don't have a theory as to why this would make you feel hungry. Just an observation.
