So I have been eating paleo a long time.
I have high insulin with no regard to dietary intake. No matter what I eat, it is high (it's believed to be congenital /genetic).
I know I can reduce the severity of my hypoglycemia by eating 20g net carbs or less. But, I still have low blood sugar at any carbohydrate level. Just more low brain blood sugar with higher carbs. (fainting, can't talk, shaking, confusion, dizziness, unable to eat when severely hypoglycemia)
I was just diagnosed with gastroparesis. Basically food exits my stomach to the intestines at a very delayed rate. I'm at the point where I can barely eat most days.
The "treatment " is a diet consisting of very low fat (5g/meal) and avoiding fiber including veggies.
Both conditions are horrible, so there is no way I could pick one diet over the other.
How can I make a very low fat, low carb, no fiber diet work? Only eat protein??? That sounds horribly wrong.
