Hack my Ovary! Pain, Other Things.

Answered on August 19, 2014

Hey Ladies:

Shortly after going Primal (carbs under 50g, dairy, no nuts, eggs or seafood due to allergies) and I started having an ovarian cyst. I've had them before. Pain then it bursts and its messy for a few days.

I have had a cyst now for going on 6 weeks.

I'm on the pill but could get off it.

Other than the cyst and constant mild bleeding and moderate pain I feel great.

I don't have health insurance! So I am not sure what I can do other than to find someone to marry me so I can get on their insurance. I make too much money to qualify for govt services and I have too many preexisting conditions to get my own policy.

Any hormonal ideas?

Thanks!

Update: after tremendous pain I went to the ER. A regular and transvaginal ultrasound + bloodwork showed nothing wrong. Their best guess is endometriosis.

Progestin works differently than Progesterone in the body. Dr. Lee's site explains this.

Here's my question, I was on the pill and it didn't go away. My pill had synthetic progesterone.

Do understand that you may or may not get immediate relief. Depending on *your* particular state of estrogen dominance, you may experience a temporary worsening of symptoms for 2-3 weeks before things balance out as your down-regulated estrogen receptors come back online. http://drjohnlee.com/store/main_articles.html

I've picked up the flannel and oil. I've boiled the flannel and I'll castor oil pack it tomorrow night! (it's drying currently) and Eugenia you are so very sweet. We could meet up, regardless of castor oil!

If you can't find castor oil or can't wait to get it online, I can get you some (free of charge of course), I'm in Foster City. Anything to help.

Thank you Ladies! I had been at planned parenthood shortly after it happened getting my refills when I asked to speak to a clinician. The clinician then said she'd just send me to the ER. So I called _just now_ and they said they'll give me an appointment for an exam next Friday. Let's hope they don't send me to the ER cuz unless I'm losing consciousness or unable to function at all, I just can't afford it. As far as being denied, I'm still waiting to hear after SCOTUS rules on Thursday. Even then, I can't afford the plans so I am a bit stuck. Castor Oil it is!

Yeah, an ultrasound (trans vaginal and abdominal) was really important for me, because it turned out to not be as terrible as I thought. PLANNED PARENTHOOD FTW (actually, I'm Canadian and don't pay for mine anyways).

+1 for Planned Parenthood. Get thy ovary down there and have it exorcized ASAP. :)

You can no longer be turned away from getting your own policy due to pre-existing conditions, they can charge you a lot, but you can't be denied. My recommendation it get thee to Planned Parenthood stat! They can see you regardless of income or insurance and can get you an ultrasound to see what is happening. Occasionally cysts or adhesions can twist an ovary and threaten the blood supply to the ovary or cause internal bleeding. It this isn't following the usual pattern of bursting and resolving it should be looked at by a doctor ASAP.

My recommendation if you don't currently have insurance is get thee to Planned Parenthood stat! In the meantime castor oil packs on the belly, and Epsom salt baths could help.

Estrogen dominance can cause ovarian cysts. Progesterone cream can help, but you want to read up on it so you know what you are doing!

Check out Dr. John Lee's site for more info & suggestions:
