Does caffeine have a positive or negative effect on your hormones?

Does caffeine have a positive or negative effect on your hormones? Which ones? In what way?

Does caffeine release insulin or growth hormone? Can too much caffeine lower testosterone or increase estrogen? Can caffeine have an impact on your thyroid? How much is too much? Should someone stay away from caffeine all together?

I think the cortisol release can be tamped by using sugar. What happens is that caffeine, if not taken with other foods, can lower sugar, and cortisol is released to try to get the sugar blood level back up.

I drink one or two cups of black coffee each day first of all because I like the taste of it. Secondly, I'm recovering from a period of 'starvation' and as coffee decreases muscle wasting and increases lipolysis I get a (maybe insignificant) protein sparing effect.

The strongest effects that I know about is that caffeine causes cortisol to be released, that's how it makes us more alert. Higher cortisol increases deposition of belly fat. Belly fat causes the insulin resistance. I don't know if there's a more direct affect on hormones other than cortisol, but the insulin resistance and high cortisol together have a myriad of effects on health.

I'm not sure of this but several researches point out that the caffeine may delay ovulation in women.
