Cooking for the week

Hi Everyone,


I am a Dad of 2 young kids and have been relying on our local all natural pre-made bar for my paleo needs. Unfortunatley, I have just realized that everything there is packed with salt and my blood pressure has spiked. Need to get back to cooking. My breakfast and lunch usually look identical and I was thinking of mass cooking on maybe Sunday and Wednesday.

Does anyone currently do this? Any good sites or resources to find ways to easily cook in bulk for the week? If so, thank you so much!

Get yourself a freezer also. I used to, say, cook a chicken and eat it every night until finished, which would be several dinners and in the intervening time the chicken would accumulate tyramine to which I am allergic. I now cook a chicken, eat it that night, and within an hour all meat and skin and potatoes are in ziploc bags or vacuum bags, in the freezer, to be used next week or next month. if you do the same for a roast beef, a panful of fish, etc. you can get a whole rotation of dinners in the freezer, which is healthier than having a week of beef followed by a week of chicken.

A word of advice: get yourself a crockpot (also known as a slow cooker) and learn how to use it.  Makes life a lot easier.

Also now that it's summer, you could BBQ a bunch of stuff on the weekends and keep it in glass (i.e. pyrex) containers and reheat as needed.
