seriously itchy hives!

i've been getting iron infusions since june- the brand i get is Ferrlecit. while i was getting the first 6 infusions, i was taking 6mp which is an immune system suppressing drug. i took a break from the infusions in august/sept and i started them again in october (but with no 6mp). the first two infusions went okay but the one i had on monday did not. i have had hives EVERYWHERE since the infusion. my face is completely swollen as well as my arms. i've tried putting various things on them like aloe, tea tree oil, baking soda, ice, coconut oil, magnesium oil. i started the supplements quercetin and vit C yesterday but they don't seem to make a difference. i ended up taking benedryl last night (totally filled with everything not paleo/SCD) and i was able to get 9 hours of sleep, thankfully. the other nights were totally miserable because i was scratching everywhere. the hives are still in full swing and i don't know what to do.

also, i should mention that i started the paleo autoimmune protocol oct 26. i've been doing paleo for about 75 days but was/am still having symptoms of UC.

could the hives be a combo of AI food detox and the iron? i am so confused. do you know how long an iron infusion stays in the body? i am skipping my next infusion on monday because i'm terrified to have another one.

anything i can take other than benedryl to help? i am seeing my doctor on monday but i'm 100% positive she will say it's not the iron (the drugs NEVER cause side effects in my doctor's eyes).
