Paleo and Breast Tenderness

Wondering if anyone else has experienced chronically tender breasts while on high fat paleo. It seems like PMS but does not come or go with my cycle. I've done some reading on Chronic Cystic Mastitis, which says high estrogen levels can be the cause and low fat (24 percent) has shown to reduce pain.

Thoughts and experiences appreciated!

D is fine. Zinc took a hit a few months ago as my IUD was causing copper toxicity. I super supplemented for 2 mos and now think I am probably getting lots as there is a lot of bison in my diet, and it is very high. I was thinking estrogen dominance as well. I tend toward this anyway, but usually it causes migraines (which it thankfully hasn`t for nearly a month). More research needed...

Coffee consumption triggers it for some people, so you want to zero that for a few weeks =8O before you suspect the paleo diet. A bit of vitamin E helps some people. Dehydration, which can result when you don't hydrate enough to offset your more efficient kidney function under a paleo regime, can contribute. I would make sure none of those most common causes are eliminated as possibilities before suspecting the paleo diet itself.

Regarding breast tenderness, Dr. K has the following on iodine deficiency and tenderness in section 7. http://jackkruse.com/what-are-the-top-ten-paleo-supplements/

You may be dealing with (hopefully temporary) Estrogen Dominance now that your body has the fat it needs and can balance out your hormones.

How's your Vitamin D level? Zinc?

I have estrogen Dominance - very Low carb and Broccoli help the boob issue but still struggling with ED it self.
