So my employer offers an increased discount if you meet particular criteria such as BMI, Cholesterol, blood pressure and nicotine use. I just got my results back for this year and wanted to share. I am rather perturbed because I am within the highest tier for everything except Cholesterol. I have been eating a paleo diet for the last ~9 months or so, before that I ate relatively well, but a lot more carbs and a lot less meat. Last year I was within the highest tier, but now because my cholesterol is of the lowest tier, thats where I will be.

    2011/ 2012/ 2013

GLucose: 85/ 80/ 89 Trgiglycerides: 141/ 69/ 41 Total Cholesterol: 156/ 114/ 246 HDL: 58/ 55/ 114 LDL: 70/ 45/ 124

My diet is almost exclusively GF beef/ organic eggs/ organic chicken/ broccoli/ kale/ sprouted almonds/ TONS OF COCONUT/ organic bacon/ and a bunch of supplements/*NO ALCOHOL. Prior to have a herniated disc in my back, I exercise about 4 days a week. I expected my Cholesterol to raise, I am just bothered that I will now receive a %10 less discount. I do understand some of the parameters they give are rather strict, but I didn't think I would be this far off.

Any thoughts or opinions? I imagine I need more cardio, lol.

In the weeks leading up to the test next time cut out all butter, cream and coconut and your cholesterol should drop. There's nothing unhealthy about the numbers in reality though.
