The problem is that whoever is conducting these tests are not distinguishing between those with active HCV and mere carriers.

In gulf area, they performing Hep C test to get your resident, problem is they just performing Antibodies test & they don't mind the PCR or any other viral load test, and they don't even listen!!! By the way, my body could self cure with No medications at all, and happen like 25 years ago, i performed all available tests in market to insure that i'm totally clear (PCR,TMA, FIBRO SCAN, ULTRA SOUND, ....)

Are you saying that you had treatment for Hep C, now show no viral load, but will still show antibodies? I don't know what kind of work you are seeking, but C in particular takes quite close physical contact or something on the order of shared IV needles/coke/meth straws. It is not easily passed sexually even, though this does occur. Why do you think it will get you barred from employment?

my understanding is this:

  1. if you have ANY detectable virus level - no matter how small... Then you have HepC.

  2. if you ONLY test postitive for the antibodies of HepC --- but no viral load at all - then you have cleared the HepC virus.

If you viral load comes back in ANY amount detectable - then you are usually given several options... Treat - wait - etc.

I guess what you need to know is what is considered acceptable for employment (negative or no viral load)
