Sugar Grams Limit Per Day For Weight Loss?

Hi, I just started eating paleo today, I have a significant amount of weight to lose and don't want to consume too much sugar from starchy veggies, fruit, etc. What is a healthy limit to follow for now? I know it's not about measuring and calorie counting, but I have an endocrine disorder where insulin function is very important and I should be watching sugar grams per day and the source. Thanks for any guidelines :-)

Generally the rule of thumb is to keep actual added sugar down to zero, keep carbs from starchy veggies between 50g-150g, though it's easier to lose fat when it's between 50g-100g. ??So that means no commercial food like products, snacks, etc.

If you have insulin issues, you'll probably want to purchase a glucometer and test with it often to see the effect of various foods, the quantity of food, and the timing on your blood sugar.

Thanks for your feedback, so no added sugars by processed foods, etc. Any gram cutoff you recommend for daily total from paleo compliant eating in order to acheive weight loss? I will get a glucose meter, that's a great idea, thanks.
