ok so i started the paleo diet the day after thanksgiving ...i was 175 pounds ..iam still following the diet and i am now 139 pounds ...i think iam am losing too much weight though and when i work out i get really burnt out really fast and iam really sore for almost a week ...i really don't know what to do at this point so i went to a local supplement shop and the guy gave me a supplement called carbalean ..he told me to take it while working out and after i work out with whey protein and a meal..so i guess my question is... are these supplements going to fix everything and if not what should i do to get the carbs my body needs without straying from the diet completely...

What are you currently eating? Do you know how many calories you get in a day? Do you know how much carbohydrate you eat relative to protein and fat? Those are all important questions for us to be able to advise you. Also, I agree that a paleo solution will almost always be to eat real foods rather than an artificial supplement. If you're trying to add carbs, there are lots of options like fruit, root vegetables, and rice.

Holy Shit Eating Disorder dude. You need to forget everything you think you know and just eat what you enjoy dude. Tend towards whole foods and tend away from HFCS and rancid oils, start with that and get some of your weight back before you jump on this again. And carbs are paleo dude, eat tasty whole foods.

dom42083-

You've lost about 2 lbs per week. That's a pretty substantial sustained rate especially considering the loss represents ~20% of your starting weight.

But how about some data? Gender? I assume you;re a guy

Starting stats: age,height, waist

Current daily caloric intake & typical foods & amounts? carb, protein, fat %'s?

Current waist measurement

If you're 5' 5" or shorter... I'm not too worried.

If you're 5' 9" or taller... well, then oyu're pretty thin.

The fact that you're tired & "sore for a week" indicates you're not eating enough good food. Stop working out & eat a steak (preferably grass fed), some eggs, chix, avocados, nuts & veggies.

Just off the top of my head, you're starving yourself.

I woulndt rely on any kind of supplement from the supplement shop to "fix" anything nevermind :"everything. Thats certainly a big weight loss for such a short period of time though. What kinda exercising are you doing>? Are you otherwise feeling healthy and up to date on your physical checkups ? Try to take down the intensity of your workout and add more carbs from "whole foods" potatoes/bannanas/yams/rice ..as already mentioned. This way you wont need to worry about straying from the diet at all. :) Also "real" protein post workout might help too.
