What's with the Chocolate????

So I am pretty new to Paleo. & when I started I was doing great, with exercise and crossfit I've lost about 6 pounds of overall body fat in a short amount of time. However, for some WEIRD reason I can NOT stop wanting chocolate. I am not one to even be a huge fan of chocolate to need to consume it the way I have been. so I do not understand. All I been wanting lately is sweets? Any one else going through this? or do you believe it is all mental?

Possibly mental, you may also be craving certain minerals and/or vitamins. Grab a 90% dark chocolate bar and eat it. Lots of good fats, very little sugar. See if this helps to quench the cravings.

Few things I've found to be great:

Ground cacoa powder - not hot chocolate mix, but the real stuff. With chilli pepper it is tasty and amazing. If you drink coffee you can also have it with a shot of espresso.

You can also get the nibs, just crushed sundried cacoa beans and can add a scoop to almost anything you are eating, any meal.

Neither taste like the sugary sweet chocolate we are used to, quite bitter, but really satisfying nonetheless. I find I eat and crave a lot less sweets when I have a cup of one or a spoon of the other. :)
