First Few Days on Paleo-- Feeling Heavy and Bloated

Hi there-

I have been on Paleo for 3 solid days now. I have been feeling very bloated and kind of "heavy" -- i have not eaten carbs/processed foods-- although i used to. I was wondering if this is normal. From what I read- you are supposed to feel lighter.

Am I doing something wrong? I just dont want to gain weight on this lifestyle change!

Please post a typical day's intake. Are you constipated? Or bloated more from gas?

If you have eaten no carbs at all you might be constipated. Have you been eating non-starchy vegetables? If you are having eggs &/or bacon for breakfast, have some mushrooms or a tomato, and have plenty of green vegetables with your dinner.

Thanks so much for the responses. It got a little better, but now is back. I typically eat:

egg whites w/turkey bacon- breakfast apple with almond butter-snack salad with chicken - lunch handful of raw nuts- snack chicken/turkey with sauteed spinach, mushroom, tomatoes etc.- dinner

I think it might just be my body's way of reacting. Prior to starting Paleo on Sunday, I was eating almost 3 containers of greek yogurt a day. So I think my body is learning how to digest.

We will see- I just hope its the right lifestyle change for me to do!
