Would you undergo a PET-scan and a fMRI-scan for $500?

Sorry for being slightly off topic but I could really use a second opinion. I am offered 500 dollars for undergoing a study which involves one health check-up, one PET-scan and one fMRI scan. Sounds simple enough but if it's totally safe, why are they offering that kind of cash for it? I'm broke so I could really use the money but I don't feel completely comfortable with the whole thing...

Most studies offer monetary incentives in order to have more people join. Larger sample sizes gives researchers stronger results. It's very common, but do some research on the organization if you are in doubt.
