inflammation and food sensitivities

Hi all- quick question- I am on the autoimmune protocol (celiac, hashimotos, and colitis) and I notice that when I ingest certain foods, I get CRAZY swelling in my legs, face, and belly. I was just away for a week in the Dominican where I believe I was cross contaminated multiple times. I am retaining about 12 extra pounds of fluid, and I am in a lot of pain and uncomfortable. The docs just seem to want to give me diuretics. Any one else experience anything like this? Any advice? Thanks!

Dude, you can't just say that over here. YES you CAN have allergies to all of those foods. I'm allergic (tested) to 21 foods. So those don't seem like too many allergies to me. And once allergies surface, because of leaky gut and such, DAIRY my friend is one of the first things to be found on that list. For someone not allergic to dairy products, yes consumed raw there seem to be some health benefits. Otherwise, stay away from it! :)

Get tested for SIBO - it can be related.

What are you saying, they are allergic to too many things so they should eat some of the stuff they are allergic to? lol! And dairy is the most common intolerance in the world.

YES! I am in the EXACT same boat!

I don't eat eggs, seafood, gluten, dairy, or chicken- because of food allergies. I later switched to full autoimmune paleo and saw amazing improvements!

If you have recipes you love, please share.

To answer your question, I've been eating a lot of junk food since I moved back home (No will power once I start eating horribly at home). I'm italian, so eating is social and food = love. Anyways, I've gained 10 lbs (likely from edema), and I have "fat clothes" for post-holidays.

I also get acne and about 10,000 other issues from bad food.

Anyways! I use green tea, and it really seems to help!

I'll state the obvious: if certain foods are causing the bloating, then avoid them :) No really. Its entirely possible to have low-grade allergy/sensitivity to random foods.

If you know what it is, then don't eat it. If you don't, then keep a food diary, track your weight/appearance and see if you can narrow it down.

stop overthinking things....there's no possible way you have allergies to all those foods

"I don't eat eggs, seafood, gluten, dairy, or chicken- because of food allergies."

NO WAY.

just eat what your body tells u to and cut out gluten...there's nothing wrong w/ dairy it's an incredible food...focus on ruminant meats, dairy, fruit, shellfish, eggs, below ground veggies like potatoes
