Anyone experienced a correlation between health and personal "magnetism?"

I don't know if it's the glowing skin, man's ability to detect fertility and healthy genes, or just a je ne sais quoi, but has anyone else found that as they down more liver and pastured butter, more heads turn?

I myself have not experienced changes in leanness. Fat has been gained from my bon-vivant approach to salmon, butter, and sweet potatoes. Yet I feel like a magnet on days I've slept well and had a good workout the night before.

On the other hand, if I don't take care of myself for a week and go off paleo, or sit around doing nothing, despite no change in weight I'll notice a lack of spark and not "feel beautiful."

Is this ego/my psyche influencing my perception of the world, or have you guys found this as well? That health is directly correlated to your looks and attractiveness. What could be causing that? Do we give out different pheromones when we're healthy vs. less-than-optimal?

Haha, so true Lizz. I always secretly hope that when I order my coffee with cream at Starbucks some hot caveman will notice and recognize me as "one of them." ;)

I can speak from my experience - I am male, aged 47, since going 'paleo' women do seem more attracted to me (never really had trouble pre-paleo) seems a lot of women 25-30ish have suddenly noticed me. It may be a combination of innately knowing what a healthy mate looks, smells, feels like and the self confidence a healthy person exudes. When I go out with some of my crew, who are early 20's they have to work hard to find a woman, but I am approached all the time, same in malls, etc. It might also be that I am way less stressed than I used to be and maybe women can perceive that subconsciously.

Perhaps my testosterone levels are higher than they used to be. Human pair bonding is a very complex subject and I think a lot of it is subtle, I know I am big on smell, if a woman does not smell 'right' for me there is no chance of anything happening, the same with touch. I am enjoying the attention form the opposite sex and am never at a loss to have an attractive woman at my side, if I so choose - of course that may be another factor I am not desperate, I would rather be alone that with someone I don't feel attracted to, I don't really go looking, the Universe just provides :)

I dunno but too bad you can't use it to attract only men who like to eat liver and pastured butter :(

Perhaps it is merely a body confidence thing.

I have the most unfortunate luck of always being around very beautiful women when I am at my worst. I.e. Having a terrible morning, unshaven and rushed to work wearing my scruffiest pair of trousers, and then getting into a lift with a gorgeous woman from some investment bank. I am sure they look at me and think: "That guy would be cute if he took more care of himself", though probably: "How did this tramp get past security?!"

I have discovered that I have an optimum weight and if I am slightly over or under, my GAP fitted t-shirt just does not fit and I don't feel as good about myself. Repellent is the word, as I become much quieter, introverted and less confident. Sounds very odd but it's true. I know this quite specifically because my primary hobby is to dance Argentine Tango which is basically hugging people and walking around. If I have eaten well, slept well and feel generally optimum then my Tango embrace is closer, cuddlier and I dance a 100% better and get a "purrrr" in my ear at the end of the dance.

I think it is that "naked-don't-mind" confidence thing, when at times you feel so good about yourself that you walk around naked in your mind and have not a care in the world. It's then when I reach across the beautiful Barclays Capital Belle for the lift button that I get a smile that says: "How did this hot naked tramp get past security?!"
