Is Mucus an Indicator of Health?

Since transitioning from vegan to paleo over the summer, I've experienced an increased amount of mucus (whereas before I would only have it when I was sick). It doesn't bother me per se, but I'm not sure if it's healthy to have so much. Should I alter my diet (I suspect eggs are the culprit), or just live with it? Is mucus always unhealthy?

Thanks for the response. I haven't had any dairy in about 6 years. Also, I first noticed mucus months ago, and not attached to any other symptoms of cold or flu.

I am only aware of increased mucus coming about as a result of ingesting dairy.. Which probably is not your case.

Increased mucus may also be a sign of having the cold or flu.

Your immune system is becoming over active in response to some food you eating that you are allergic to.
