I recently moved from Baltimore to Jersey City, NJ. I'm looking for the best place in Jersey City (or nearby) to buy some essentials such as organic produce, grass fed meat, almond flour, etc. So far, the grocery stores here have been really disappointing.

The Greenmarket (a store, not a farmers market) near Paulus Hook/Exchange Place. Also, there is a small farmers market every Tuesday right near the Paulus Hook ferry, and another near the Grove Street PATH stop, but I'm not sure when that one is set up.

Thanks! I do have a car. I've been to Edgewater to shop a few times and also into the city. I will check out these places in Hoboken.

Do you have a car or someone who can drive you?

freshdirect.com delivers in Jersey City. The Shoprite near Grove Street is a mediocre excuse for a grocery store and is really the only game in town.
If you browse the website, they have various organic produce etc as well as almond meal.

There is an excellent little market in Hoboken called Sobsey's. They have meat and fish from local sources and a lot of organic stuff. There is another one called Basic that would have things like almond flour.
Both are pricey. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are in Edgewater, if you have a car.
