I would strongly recommend someone take a close look at the bread and dairy lobby. I do not have solid evidence of this, but I think it is highly likely that FDA recommendations for nutrition are a direct result of inputs from this strong lobby. They are never going to be able to fine people for eating Paleo, but they can reward bad behavior by advertising foods that are nutritionally against common sense.

Even if you're not explicitly evangelizing about the merits of Paleo and/or defending yourself against counter-Paleoism, you're still fighting for your right to "go Paleo" every time you choose to accept increased prices (due to the lack of subsidized pasture-raised meat, organic vegetation, etc.), decreased convenience (you sure as hell won't find a farmer's market on every intersection, but you can bet there'll be an easy way to get a cheap, easy, fast-food-fix), and ostracism from strangers, friends, and even family alike.

Worth it? Absolutely.
