My new supernatural-romance novel heroine is a paleo-nutritionist in New Orleans. Where should she eat for paleo business dinners?

Are crawfish from the dirty Mississippi waters paleo? Is the oil-tainted gulf seafood off-limits? Is it okay if her supposedly paleo romantic interest drinks blood from victims who gorge on beignets? Will gluten harm their half-breed offspring? So many loose ends!

A paleo vamp would only eat free range humans so sorry to say Mississippi is out of the question unless ordering through USwellnesvamp.com....Even then you don't "really know" where that human came from.

Okay. Yes, they would have to be caught with nets spun from the gossamer of organically (no GMO) fed spiders. That means that the spiders must be fed from grass-fed bugs, who, in turn, must have feasted on either organically grown plants or paleo-blood. Then, and only then, can the gulf seafood break the spell of oil-contamination. Thanks, Richard. This is going to add five chapters to my book, but well worth it. Who needs sex scenes when the reputation of paleo-purity is on the line!! :)

Yeah, I agree. If he's a real immortal blood-drinker, then he knows to stay away from this post-ag taint. The half-breed babies do need to survive- it's optimal for his role in the tale. Maybe she seeks to thwart the union with beignets from Cafe Du Monde?

Yeah, I'm even skeeved-out by people feeding on people that are only "primal." That 20% allowance for dairy and 90% chocolate bars and the occasional corn tortilla is just too freaking dangerous, in my opinion. *shudders*

I know, right? Such a conundrum! I will take your point about "fatty marbling" into deep consideration. You take what you can get in this weak economy, but I do agree that fatty beignet blood may be "optimal". I also agree that cows should not eat other cows. That's a whole "zombie-cow" situation that we really aren't equipped to handle, at this juncture.

Feeding on people that aren't paleo is SO NOT paleo.

Part of me wants to say that victims who gorge on beignets (which my friend on Magazine Street lovingly refers to as 'Big-Nutz') would have delicious fatty marbling. However, if humans aren't really built to eat wheat (just as cows aren't really built to eat...well...other cows), then that fatty marbling may be akin to feed-lot veal.

Augh, the contradictions!

Have you seen the Unxerworld???! omg amazing. Nothing harms the half breed even gluten... ha ahaah. my diet rec for a paleo nutritionist with vampy viral genetics? Visit the local Crossfit gym where gluten free, hot, hard bodies congregate. who knows. you might get lucky and find adequate blood with extra iron(hemachromatosis, ege northern european/viking) descent)!

I'd actually prefer if she ate grass-fed beef from a lush pasture in an idyllic setting rather than questionable crawfish. Blaaghh. And totally avoid the beignet contamination!! She must find a worthy mate who abstains from gluten or else their babbies will not thrive.

UT,

I think "oil-tainted gulf seafood" is perfectly fine as long it is wild caught. (Where is the sarcasm font when you need one) ;-)
