I just got a new conditioner, It otherwise doesn't contain any offensive ingredients, but I was just unwrapping it when i saw in the ingredients that it contains hydrollized wheat protein! :( I was REALLY looking forward to using it, it smells great, I went on a six mile hike earlier today, I'm sweaty and smelly, I'm wearing nothing but a bath towel right now, I just want to take my shower and go to bed, but now I'm really worried that I'll get gluten poisoning! Obviously I won't be eating it, and while I don't have celiac disease I still have NCGS, and while I'm not as sensitive as some, I don't get topical reactions to gluten (I'm always making sandwiches for my gluten eating family with no reaction) but I'm always playing with my hair and I hear that you can get gluten poisoning if you run your fingers through your gluteny hair and then put your fingers in your mouth you can get gluten poisoning. Should I play it safe and use something else tonight, make a mercy run to the drugstore and get a conditioner that does not contain wheat, or give it a whirl and return it if I get gluten poisoning? Not expecting answers in the next ten seconds, but I just want to take my shower and go to bed!

Get something else.
Whatever you put on your skin can be even more easily absorbed in your blood than what you digest (this is why when you go on a cruise they give you dramamine as a skin patch, and there are nicotine patches available, and cream based hormones that you'd rub on your skin - they all get absorbed).
At least when you eat something, it has to go through the digestion process.

If it stresses you out, you're probably better using something else (though, if you don't have a skin allergy to wheat, you should be safe there.) I typically like my topical stuff organic / edible. Maybe throw some watered down apple cider vinegar (+ essential oils for fanciness) in a bottle.
