Does ghee butter contain casomorphin?

I'm not 100% paleo but one thing I've learned over the years is that I need to avoid wheat and dairy.  I bought some ghee butter for the first time last night and put it on some rice and then added chicken hearts and some carrot relish with Indian spices.  I was blown away.  I've never made anything so delicious in my life.  It was resturaunt quality in my book. Was that just the casomorphin talking?

If if I remember right, lactose and casein are removed in the process? Does that mean ghee is free of casomorphin? I have a real addiction to cheese so if that's not the case I may need to avoid it which would suck because it's amazing.

It should not.  Butter contains very little casein.  Once it's rendered down into ghee, it should contain almost none.

I can tell.  It's been two days and I haven't even touched the jar.  If it was loaded with casomorphin it would be halfway gone by now.  I'm glad I can keep using it.  It's great stuff.
