LPR/Silent Reflux/Post Nasal Drip Trigger
Created February 01, 2015 at 4:09 PM
I've been on a fairly restricted diet recently while trying to determine which foods I react poorly to. About a week ago I cooked a large amount of beans at home (not a food I'd eaten in a while) and ate them over the course of a few days.
By the time I finished the beans I had developed a burning in my throat that sometimes made me cough, as well as a significant amount of digestive discomfort. The digestive part has passed, but I've since had burning/itching/irritation in my throat the entire week. I've been waking up with a really sore throat and coughing up some mucus to start my day. I'm not sick though, I have plenty of energy and otherwise feel fine.
My question is: has anyone else had a GERD/LPR/post nasal drip event triggered by a single food, and what did you do to treat it? I obviously haven't eaten beans since, and I have no nasal congestion so I can't attack this post nasal drip with xylitol sinus spray. Suggestions would be much appreciated.
