After 3 weeks of constant digestive, hypoglycemia and panic attacks that caused crushing cheat pain, dizziness, tingling, rapid heart beat lasting minimum 4 hours...I knew the paramedics by name. Every test was done for heart, diabetes, hypothyroid, hyperthyroid etc. of course everything is normal. Then, a smart nurse told me just before I almost passed out she said I am suffering from acid coming up from the stomach.
Just one day on a diet Of low fat, low acid foods let me sleep through the night without heart palpitations every 15 minutes.
Another strange phenomenon during sleep was the overwhelming feeling of fainting and vertigo that kept me from going into alpha state. I decided to give into it...if I never woke up I didn't care because I was so sleep deprived. I realized that when I did givein the blood would rush to my extremities and the tingling in my arms and legs would subside. I woke up after a decent amount of sleep. Today is the second day and knock on wood I feel very good. I had a very bland lunch of tuna and boiled potatoes,dinner was quinoa congee with chicken breast and lean ground pork and some saut??ed green beans. For snacks...a teaspoon of almond butter can't do more than that.
I pray that I am on the road to recovery. So I have given up on high fat paleo and IF. I believe it caused and exacerbated GERD, hypoglycemia, hypotension and all of my issues.
Lesson learned. I need to follow a diet that is right for me...I will still follow some paleo principles...grass fed meat, organic eggs but no more coconut milk or oil or butter in unlimited amounts because I will go straight back to emergency.

Thanks for sharing, but this isnt a question.
A further question for you though might be why is acid coming up from your stomach? Bacterial infection/SIBO? Heliobacter? Low stomach acid? Weakened LES? Doesnt sound like a fully fleshed out thought. GERD is a decription of a symptom, like "IBS", not a cause.
Protein stimulates stomach acid too BTW.
That sleep phenomena is called hypnogogic jerk. Its brought on often by stress.
Where you eating some carbs BTW or none?

Yes you do need to follow a diet that is right for you. The point here is to be healthy and eat healthy and whole foods. If its not the exact same as what is tauted in some book or wekbsite... bfd.
