I had a dorsal cyst drained and I was wondering what I could do to prevent it from coming back aside from immobilization

I do not have inflammation. My hs Crp was .3

great advice! I had one removed when I was much younger, it grew after I sprained my wrist, we smashed it and tortured it but those were the days of being on my parents health insurance and alternative medicine was not considered..*sigh* I think I might start doing some caster packs on my achey joints though, great inspiration.

Indeed. My father was a doctor and we certainly tried the hitting it hard with a mallet route and it then burst the dissipated. Might well have been traditional treatment for cave men too.

Yeah, use a club instead to paleoize the treatment.

In the old days they used to treat ganglion cysts by "whacking it with a Bible" but I guess that's a pretty Neolithic approach, after all. I'm interested to hear if any dietary hacks would help.

I had a large ganglion cyst on my wrist, i hit it with a book, it went & come back, i booked in for an operation to have it removed. The op was cancelled whilst i was in the waiting room, i went home had a quick search about & decided to put some castor oil on it, put cling film over the top & bandaged it overnight. After 3 days it had reduced by half, another two nights & it was barely noticeable. Its stayed barely noticeable & it doesn't bother me unless i put pressure on my wrist like press-ups. (i do them on my knuckles these days)I would say personally that the castor oil worked wonders, although it didn't get rid of it completely, i am glad i didn't have the op...Just thought i'd throw in my 2p's worth. =o)

A while ago I tried putting a drop of oregano oil directly on the ganglion cyst for about 2 weeks, and I started to notice it shrinking a little bit. But I had to stop because the smell was bothering my family. :/ now it's big and painful again. If you want to try this, just add one drop, and make sure the drop covers the whole cyst, it'll burn a little bit, and your skin might become slightly dry, just add coconut oil to it. And all will be well.
