So I am looking to turn my life around...I need to lose about 20 lbs of bat (I'm 125 and need to be 100) what is best way to make this quick once I get back on the paleo bandwagon??

Note the "I'm guessing" and "probably". I'm assuming that she thinks that she has 20 lbs of fat because she was in the 100 pound range when she was a teen -- if that's the case then she would probably have a healthy mature weight of 10-20% higher. Obviously, I could be way off, but it's just a guess.

thank you for your concern, usually a smaller frmae run s in my family... I just want to get happy and back to normal. I was a ballerina, and left for college. I am used to about 5-7 hours of dance again. Its just been hard and depressing, I just was looking for a replacement that is healthy. I dont want to OD on Cardio or weight lifting, I just want something that will work fast to lose the fat I gained and retone to this healthy state. (its more of a precaution because if I stay like this the ED might resurface, and I just am trying to get out of the binge one I feel like I am in right)

Also the "turn my life around" thing is a very ED thought. Like, that belief that by getting control of your weight, you will get control of your life. Doesn't work that way.

8-10 % body fat is WAY too low for a woman. It's around half of what you need to be reproductive, you know that, right?

thanks for checking, actually at my ED i awas about 80 (Yikes I know) I just know I was at my most comfortable and 8-10 percent body fat at 100 lbs, thats the only reason I use it as a reference point...Its more about the fat percentage for me than the lbs, but I dont have measurement here...

Either on the rocks or a vodka martini. Pretty much always stick to Grey Goose.

Either on the rocks or a (Grey Goose) martini. If it's in the afternoon I'll just have a (Hendricks) Blood Mary or (GG) Cape Cod.

Either on the rocks or a (vodka) martini. Cape Cods before 5 o'clock....and pretty much always Grey Goose.

Because she used to be, I'd assume. You shouldn't think that it's your ideal weight, though, just because it's what you used to weigh.

Word of advice:

You will end up healthier, happier, and hotter in the long-run if you forget about the number on the scale and focus instead upon your overall body composition.

So, that being said, some good exercise to incorporate would kettlebell workouts with a core and upper body focus along with stiff leg deadlifts and walking lunges for your lower body.

Also, choose your alcohol wisely. Vodka is your best bet.

Good luck.

Hi Frazdance, I noticed you also posted an answer to a question on eating disorders indicating you had experienced one. http://paleohacks.com/questions/144298/recovering-anorexic-what-has-worked-for-you/153518#153518 If that's the case, "I need to be 100" sounds like a really eating-disordered thought to me. Very black and white, very hard on yourself, not to mention a very low number. Just maybe it's a "need" worth rethinking.

Losing weight is mostly about food. Watch out for the temptation to turn exercise into a sort of indirect eating disorder. Walking, body-weight work, sprints, kettlebell swings or snatches, simple barbell work; any or all of these should give you real benefits.

In the long run the changes in eating and activity will merge in you. Your target on the scale may be irrelevant, or may be spot-on. Just do the next right thing.

HIIT is great for losing weight. i do bodyrock.tv when i'm trying to lose weight or maintain health. right now, i'm looking to gain so i don't do a lot of cardio. the workouts are all less than 20 minutes and you get your heartrate up really high, really fast.

I would worry less about how much you weigh and more about your body fat percentage. If you start eating properly, make sure to get physical activity, and get enough sleep you'll hit your ideal weight.

I'm guessing that ideal is probably in the 110-115 range, but tone.
