has anyone increased their ft3 with selenium supplementation/nuts

i just bought some brazilian nuts. my ft3 is getting towards the bottom of the range 2.2.

i don't want to take the t3 drug..forget the name

i assume if im not eating a lot of other phytic acid and im not taking any other supplements around this time im okay?

The T3 synthetic is Cytomel. If your free T3 is low it is best to get a reverse T3 serum test, along with T4. I had not known that there was a possible connection between selenium status and T4 to free T3 conversion, so plus one for you. It does appear that there is some controversy as yo whether increased selenium alone cane raise free T3 but it is theoretically possible particularly in female humans; http://www.ajcn.org/content/90/4/1038.full.pdf

Brazil nuts for selenium is common knowledge, but keep in mind they are higher than pretty much anything else in phytic acid. Not to mention, selenium supplements are super cheap. See http://chriskresser.com/another-reason-you-shouldnt-go-nuts-on-nuts
