What does a100-150 grams of carbs a day actually look like

Hello

I'm trying to get an idea of what 100g of carbs via veggies and fruit looks like. I've more or less cut grains out completely but before I started learning more about paleo living I really stepped up the fruit and veg intake (about 10 portions a day, 4 of which would be veg).

Is there a ball park kind of figure on the portions of fruit and veg you can eat to stay at around 100 grams of carbs a day? I generally consider a portion to be around 80g. I'm not looking to lose weight particularly, just trying to be more paleo to see how it goes. My veg intake is mainly green leafy stuff with brocoli and cauliflour. Fruit is mainly berries, grapes, apples, bananas and pomegranate juice and it is all usually organic except the juice.

Many thanks

Agreed, I also like squash and pumpkin to up my carbs after weight lifting. Sweet potato= 41 grams carbs, 1 cup butternut squash= 20 grams carbs, banana= 27 grams, apple= 27 grams. So it depends on what your goals are- are you trying to avoid carbs? Then eat less fruit and less potatoes, more green stuff. Spinach 1 cup = 1 gram carb, broccoli 1 cup= 6 grams.

You can use a website like this: http://nutritiondata.self.com/ but it doesn't sound like you need to be restricting carbohydrates at all.

3-4 apples or 200 oz. of broccoli. If it's green then it'll be a ton! If it's a fruit then it will be much less. 3-4 cups of berries, 4-5 pears, etc. just mix and match until you have what will keep you full.

I'm not sure if you just WANT to stay with fruit and veg for carbs (seems as if you're new and many think there are no "heavy carbs" with Paleo), but sweet potatoes are an awesome and healthy source to get some carbs as well
