This is weird for me--Even fruit doesn't taste good anymore?

Today I def over indulged but kept it semi-paleo-- mostly lots of nuts (maybe not the best ones but better than cookies) and then I ate some higher sugar fruits --which I have not really eaten in 2 months --dried figs and dates. YES I ate more than I shd at any one sitting. But as I was eating them --i thought--this doesnt even taste good -- why the heck am I eating them -- so i threw the rest out.. Has this happened to anyone?

Yes.....timing of eating is the key. No IF until youre sensitive. All cravings go away. three meals a day and no snacking at all between meals. The most important time not to snack is post dinner because this is when leptin acts......any eating will increase insulin which increases palmitic acid and blocks stimulation. And very limited carbohydrates......which if youre paleo youre doing now. if you want a blood test to make sure get your doc to do a reverse T3. You want it real low.....close to zero.

The worst feeling is when you don't want anymore but somehow need to keep eating. So sickening.

Is there any way to become more leptin sensitive? Any way to trick the body?

Not a slow learner. You just had to find out for yourself, the hard way. :)

Yeah I have been sort of "healthy binging" with fruit and nuts. Today I ate a 1700 calorie bag of macadamias and it was yummy but after I ate the whole bag I was a little disgusted. However if I hadn't eaten the whole bag I would have felt bad because there would be yummy macadamia to eat. It didn't help that they were salted.

For the last few days I have been making an uber-tacular fruity dessert esplosion. Shredded coconut, coconut flour, gelatin, juice, bananas, blueberries, jam, rasberry syrup, macadamias, etc etc. Delicious but then it's gone and I'm indifferent to it and feeling a little antsy. I don't get antsy with meat, fat and vegetables, just satisfied. No wonder vegans have such behavioral problems - that diet would make me crazy.

Fruit won't be consistent. Sometimes you will get a bad apple, literally and figuratively speaking.

That only happens to me with processed man made garbage, like boxed items or cookies. I took a bite of a Mrs Fields chocolate chip cookie the other day and thought it tasted like a bunch of weirdo chemicals. Yuck. But it's never really happened with fruits or nuts.

Its not weird....its biological adaptation. We have leptin sensory organs on our taste recpetors and when you become leptin sensitive it modulates the neurotransmitter in our vagus nerve for taste. Its pretty common for many foods.
