It's getting pretty heated over there between the paleo/ancestors and the fruitarian types:

This is the discussion where it seems to have started,

I'm banned, but I think it might be interesting to hear some of the more sciencey folks get into it over there ^_^

I think what your experience would tell us is that it's not really healthy to live on an "almost all fruit diet". There are people who experience the same thing on the zero-carb carnivore diet.

Ugh, can't answer it because it gives me a headache. Love that the athletes the 801010 goons parade around look less than manly. Would love to see more studies on fruit specifically though.

Why would fruit be unhealthy? And why would it not be considered paleo?

If the answer from the low-carbers is "It's high in carbs. It has a sugar called fructose." Well I don't think that's convincing at all.

The difference between paleo and low-carb is that the latter is focused on weight loss and not health. But the main concept of low-carb, that carbs make you fat, is not even true at all.

The only thing I can say is that a 7 months almost all fruit diet left me sick, weak, underweight and with bad teeth and digestive problems. Oh and the first signs of diabetes like frequent urination at night coupled with extreme thirst.
