Which Paleo Hackers would you like to meet and why?

Here's my list. If you are not on it, it's because you haven't hit me up in an email. I order the list according to the ones I am most likely to meet for geographical reasons.

Laura: San Francisco women have a well-deserved reputation of being smart, sophisticated, beautiful, socially-conscious, maverick. Laura is way on top of that game. Luckily (for me, at least) I may soon get to meet her.

Mei-Ling rages in Oak Town (Oakland, CA) where she does her art (I have a THANG for artists) and sometimes snorts at my off-color jokes. Lives close enough that we could get together for a bowl of jiaozi, if only we could find a place that makes them with coconut flour :)

BakingBread formerly known as BaconBitch lives close enough in Sonoma County, so we could definitely meet up there and enjoy the fine wine and some of the most breathtaking California coastline.

SherpaMelissa was the first person I took a liking to on here. She is also on my list because she is Incredibly Hot in all of the photos she's posted here on PaleoHacks. Chicago isn't that far.

AKD We have the same politics and we like the same books. Born and raised in the South, I find New England more exotic than Mozambique. If it weren't for The Scarlet Letter, I would suspect you all of using some alternative form of reproductive strategy. I have been to Boston once though, so I'd like to come out there and check you out.

The Quilt Most of my family lives in Nashville, so I get down there from time to time. If ever your office manager tells you there's a crazy guy in the waiting room with a saliva cortisol test in hand and asking for "Dr Q", just know that would be me.

Tartare has that understated Mittel Europa charm going on. She also knows something about reindeer urine and that means a lot to me ;) Pretty hard to get to where she's at, but you never know.

Gone2Croat I like the sound of her circle of friends. Sound a little bit like a southern version of Warhol's factory. Would love to get drunk and fight with those folks.

Sage_: I have many wonderful associations with Toronto, even though I've never been there.

Uggla: Chilllllllllllllllllld, you can call yourself that name if you want, but I know that you are really Freja. That raven mane tosses in the wind as you hunt down game in some primeval Scandinavian forest. You are one of those pagans in Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev You make sacrifices to gods whose names contain no vowels and use Lutherans as fodder for the pyre.

Patrik: He's the Grand Lama of the board. With one click of the delete button, he can send us all packing for Yahoo Answers. I don't know where he is, but his name doesn't have a "c" in it. Whenever I see the letter "k", I immediately think of Germany. You've got to admit that plosive phonemes are intimidating.

I go to Beijing about every other year. Basically I like going to the Quan Jude restaurant for the duck. That's my reason for going to Beijing. Want to come with me? Send me an email (mine is in my profile). Don't worry, I can't figure out where you live in Oakland by looking in your email. I am not that smart :)

The best way to deal with the fussiness is to go to a restaurant that serves meat and vegetables. I know there is going to be SOMEBODY who won't be happy and will whine. That's THEIR problem.

A Bay Area meetup/cook off would be fun I think, though the logistics make my eyes cross. Plus how to deal with the varying degrees of fussiness? (I would include myself in the 'prohibitively fussy' category.) Going back to the Kong in a week, where the food is the most AMAZING POISON THERE IS, maybe tied with Malaysian street-food. Oh GOD the salivation.

I already *ALMOST* had one "Crying Game" scenario in my life, don't care for another :) Besides I can't get over the fact that Audrey was in the worst French film of all time, Amélie. For me Amélie is to French cinema, what ABBA was to Swedish rock music. And believe me, I HATE ABBA. Luckily, Uggla wasn't born when they were at the peak of their fame.

Everyone here seems to be really, really cool. A few peeps I've actually connected with make me wish this was a big ol' tribe, somewhere cool that had Manhattan squashed together with Bloomington, IN and with Maui...my dreamworld. That would be fun.

Some folks that stand out:

Stephen-Aegis - Super Knowledgeable, cool blog, looks like he'd be fun to lift weights with, and talk about Game of Thrones with.

My super-knowledge category: Travis Culp, Dexter, The Quilt(are you really in NY? I don't have a doctor! And I wouldn't mind living forever...), Jack Kronk

I would pick mushrooms and eat lots of raw meat with Tartare.

I would love to hang out with ben61820(fellow hardgainer) and MelissaHuntGatherLove(she holds the secret to meatshares and raw milk) here in the city. NYC rules!

Me and Becker seem to have a ton in common, musically, Indiana-ly, etc...He'd be cool to chill with, hike, and play some tunes.

Thomas Seay, I have a feeling you and I would get along, but argue alot. And you'd probably win, since I'm not super polished on my knowlegde of biomechanics.

Kamal and I would totally chill out and watch movies. Wayne's World maybe?

UncleLongHair, who wouldn't want to meet someone named UncleLongHair? Plus I like your politics, and I have long hair!

I'm not sure I'd want to MEET Personman, so much as maybe just OBSERVE him for a day.

Hope I'm not forgetting anyone! I feel like I'm at the Oscars!

---EDIT---
I want to meet Ron Rosedale and The Quilt. But moreso as a fly on the wall, just hearing what they have to say to each other. I don't treat patients or read articles about metabolism, so I'd rather be the one taking minutes. And I'd like to have Paul Jaminet there, so I can ask someone if I have questions (having met Paul, he seems like someone who could explain nutritional biochemistry to a toddler).

I'd like to meet everybody. There's a lot of clever people, and a lot of pretty girls.

PersonMan would be a hoot in real life. I like those that strive to make stupid jokes, like Thomas Seay and WCC Paul. And of course, I'd be willing to bet that sherpamelissa is pretty darn cool. But there's a ton of people whose posts I enjoy reading...Jae, gone2croatan, various med students and cooks, etc etc.

Uh, I can't tell if Thomas is teasing or not .... Kamal is a fan of Audrey .... he just blew his chance .... thought you might be interested .... maybe you could come to Paris and hang out on the set of my latest film .... Oh, boy I hope I didn't ruin the moment, but I don't want to leave Thomas hanging. If he was teasing then I guess the joke's on me, in which case: bravo!

So many of you. I know I will forget someone, but here goes... (here goes?... that makes no sense, huh)

In no particular order:

familygrokumentarian: she always has intriguing things to say/ask. plus her 'lunchbox' pics on primalkitchen.com win more than Charlie Sheen.

Ben: I like his style. Seems level headed. And we've had some good exchanges.

gone2croatan: seems like a super cool chick that would be fun to hang with.

mari: because I think it's amazing that she knows so much at 15 yrs old. Adorable little smarty pants. I smile real big when I see her posts, even if I don't agree. lol.

Travis Culp: a major contributor to PH. His answers are often very succinct and well worded. He's not afraid to go against the grain a bit with ideas.

Todd: a fellow San Diegan. I seem to agree with Todd on most things. We are often on the same page I think.

Gilliebean: why would I not want to meet Gilliebean? That's a more appropriate question.

The Quilt: I bet this guy could roast my brain with info. I'm curious to see where things will end up with the Doc in the long run. Overall, I'm rooting for him at this current point in time.

PersonMan: Doc makes me think of PM so I had to list him next. Mostly because I've wondered if he created that account just to poke and prod with oddball questions and annoy us all. PM's been gone for a little while it seems. I'm kinda wondering now if I'm glad or I miss the adventure a little bit. Crazy.

sherpamelissa: been trackin with meliss the whole time. When I first got on PH, I think she had like 1,000 rep points. Plus she was one of the first people to make a nice comment about me when I was brand new to PH, and I liked that. Plus she knows all of what's good and what's not, but is never really afraid to 'bend the rules'.

Futureboy: I need to know what's gonna happen next and this guy is my ticket. Plus he has a 99+% upvote ratio. Takes a lot to be 99% positive.

WCC Paul: everybody likes WCC Paul. No argument here. Dude runs a nice website too.

texasleah: The best stash of GF beef eva! Immediately won me over. I would meet her and then in a sly way try to reach around her and grab her rump roast.... of grass-fed beef so I can try it. yah.

Thomas Seay: the most sarcastic guy on PH. sometimes a bit eloquant in delivery, sometimes brash. but always witty.

Kamal: I hate Kamal now because of the Dr K thread. Haha. I joke I joke. I kid I kid. Kamal is great. Plus he's the only one who has given me a nickname. Plus he has tricked many into thinking he is a pretty girl. No easy task for a guy to do.

MelissaHunterGatherLove: I just wanna meet her to so I can meet CMast. haha. just playin. Melissa has been strangley a bit absent lately. Maybe she is hunting and gathering with Chris. Anyways... huge contributor to PH.

akd: because I like her new pic.

tartare: some of the best posts on PH. I like running across tartare's name when I'm pokin around on the site.

Travis McBride: This guy is always encouraging me, cheering me on when I go off on one of my rants. lol.

Jules: How could I not meet the queen of the stoneages? Besides, she has a cool lunchbox pics dealio too, like famgrok.

Ok I'll stop there. I could continue, but I think this is enough for now. If I didn't mention you here, it doesn't mean I don't want to meet you, but it might! lol.

I agree with Kamal, I would like to meet everybody...but the posters who "speak" the most to me, or just make me laugh are:

Jack Kronk and Stabby of course! SherpaMelissa is my evil twin sometimes, Jae, Eva, Rob Sacks, Ben61820, Kamal, Travis Culp, Stephen-Aegis, Melissa, Paul J and without a doubt PersonMan and Anonymous Coward.

Oh Thomas, I think you should be the one to organize a Bay Area Meet-up. You've so scoped out a lot of interesting folks. Thanks for shout out btw:) There are lots of others I would like to meet besides Bay Area folks.

I would love to meet SherpaMelissa. Both her comments and her answers are thoughtful and kind.

Baconbitch cos she seems like a problem solver and I really like that in a person.

Jack Kronk, cos he answered my first ? and is super encouraging to new folks on here.

Familygrokumentarian: Favorite name and intriguing questions. They often challenge me to think and help me learn in order to try and answer them.

Uggla: Mainly because of her down to earth, straightforward style. Amazing tattoos would def be neat to see in person.

Dr. K cos I know he'd be better in person than he sometimes is in the written commentary.

Kamal cos he is funny and sarcastic without being too mean. That's pretty hard to pull off. Plus the photo. Priceless, especially when someone posted the question: "Hey did you know you look like Audry Tatou?"

Ditto you too Thomas! Bet you are even more funny in person.

I wouldn't mind meeting personman cos I want to see if he is just like his posts.

Well Thomas what do you say? Strategies for Bay Area Paleo meet-up?

I would really like to meet everyone on here - and so many for such different reasons - infact I think I would like to have a chat with everyone (especially the Canadians on here if for no other reason than to ask about good food sourcing in the great white north)!

Stephen-Aegis I love the way he imparts his knowledge - very thorough and easy to understand without judgement as well.

Familygrokumentarian she's a real inspiration to me - meal planning for a family is not an asy task - and she's so great at it

akd i would love to sit with and have a bottle of wine and a good chat about so many things

The Food Lovers I freaking love their blog - and would like to see them in action

PersonMan I think I want to go and visit his shipping crate in Surrey - I think I just might do it - it's only a ferry ride away!

Janssushibar love her blog too!

I think it would be really cool to meet everyone together. I think that the interaction and contributions from everyone here is what makes this site so interesting

If I had to choose one person though, I'd meet Stabby. Not only is he brilliant, he's funny too. He had a hilarious post over at MDA about bashing someone with a sheleighly. I literally laughed out loud. I also remember him saying something about re-purposing a colander as a fancy hat. But he is just ridiculously smart and I always make sure to read his answers.

I wouldn't mind meeting fellow paleo Texans but there aren't many on this site, I know there's a paleo community in Austin and and I definitely see vibrams here a lot.

Austin seems like a great place to be paleo because unlike other cities it's full of nature, parks, river, lakes and overall beautiful. It's possible to live here without a car and you can get around on bike even faster than car. And it's legal for women to be topless in the city limits here so maybe some really paleo chicks are down with that.
