Ultimate Paleo Menu

Answered on August 19, 2014
Created February 03, 2011 at 10:37 PM

If you had unlimited funds and unfettered access to the finest quality Paleo ingredients from the choicest of farms and suppliers, what would your daily or weekly menu look like? What would you eat for breakfast (if you're not IFing), lunch and dinner?

A daily menu is interesting, but to get the full range of delicious choices in and a full variety of vitamins/minerals I think a weekly menu would be most useful. Make it ortho/lacto/LC/ZC, whatever your personal style is.

I'm trying to nail my own eating habits down - they're a bit sporadic right now - so I'm coming to you guys for inspiration!

What does your ultimate Paleo menu look like?

Ha! Thanks. :-) I only wish that I had the budget to actually eat like this. Unfortunately for now the menu exists solely in the realm of fantasy. :-D

you brought the house down with this answer familygrok. multiple reasons to like this list here. variety, specificity, nutrition, originality, passion, quality.. etc etc etc. if this is any indication of how you actually eat, you have a very fun eating program.

Ha, well, I sit down and type out my family's menu every week, so I'm used to trying to mix things up, but this is the fantasy question with unlimited funds, so instead of humbler budget-accommodating dishes that I normally plan like spaghetti squash with meaty marinara, well, you get veal medallions and dark chocolate dipped organic strawberries! lol

For some reason I think of weeks as starting on Mondays, so here we go! :)

Monday:

  • Breakfast - Coffee with raw pastured heavy cream, fried eggs with soft yolks and pastured bacon
  • Lunch - Grilled pate, grilled asparagus drizzled in Hollandaise
  • Dinner - Roast duck with a tamari-orange glaze, roasted Brussels sprouts

Tuesday:

  • Breakfast - Big bowl of organic berries - blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, drizzled in heavy pastured cream and sprinkled with cacao nibs
  • Lunch - Grilled lamb kebabs with a honey-lime glaze, tzatziki with sliced cucumbers for dipping
  • Dinner - Tender pastured veal medallions with a red wine reduction, arugula salad loaded with lardons and onions

Wednesday:

  • Breakfast - Porterhouse steak and pastured eggs, scrambled on very low heat with crumbled gorgonzola stirred in
  • Lunch - Miso-glazed grilled salmon, crispy sweet potato fries fried in coconut oil
  • Dinner - Gigantic butterflied shrimp, skewered and grilled with a glaze of butter, salt, pepper, and a touch of honey. Half papaya dressed with lime juice on the side.

Thursday:

  • Breakfast - Boiled eggs, still steaming, mashed with Kerrygold butter and salt and pepper, finished with good truffle oil
  • Lunch - Bowl of gluten free clam chowder, impossibly loaded with clam and garnished with a good dose of crumbled pastured bacon
  • Dinner - Pastured beef short ribs, falling apart, with a creamy broccoli and local raw cheddar soup

Friday:

  • Breakfast - Pastured liverwurst, fried with onions
  • Lunch - Organic apple slices slathered with macadamia butter, caprese salad with raw mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, cubed avocado, fresh basil, and balsamic vinaigrette
  • Dinner - Huge lobster, with garlic butter sauce for dipping, and also couple of steamed arthichokes for dipping in same sauce. Creme brulee with very minimal sugar to top and crust.

Saturday:

  • Breakfast - Nut-based granola with pastured heavy cream and organic blackberries, licorice herbal tea
  • Lunch - Roasted whole chicken with rosemary and rosemary organic russet potatoes
  • Dinner - Luau! Slow roasted pineapple glazed whole pastured pig, garam masala buttered cauliflower roasted on the coals, guacamole with fresh veggies for dipping

Sunday:

  • Brunch! - Mimosas, coffee + pastured cream, raw oven-broiled brie, bacon and onion quiches, parsnip hashbrowns fried in Kerrygold, melon chunks wrapped in prosciutto, whole raw yoghurt drizzled with honey, dark chocolate dipped organic strawberries
  • Dinner - Super tender pastured beef pot roast with onions, carrots, potatoes, and a nice red wine to accompany

A secluded Alaskan valley, a cabin, and a rifle. I know this is not the kind of answer you are looking for, but it would be my ideal diet.

With unlimited funds, I'd buy a huge sous vide cooker, bring mammoth back to life via cloning technology and invite everyone over for dinner

I already eat close to my ideal diet. I spend too much on food. If I could improve something, I would source more local ingredients and rely less on Whole Foods. I mostly eat twice daily, either breakfast or lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast (weekends): eggs, uncured bacon or sausage, potatoes, sometimes berries with a bit of yogurt or coconut milk

Lunch/dinner: meat, fish or fowl, greens, other vegetables, potatoes or sweet potatoes, some sauerkraut or pickles

Red wine is a frequent addition to dinner

Occasional: dark chocolate, hard cheese

What makes it my ideal is the quality of the food, not the types or even preparation. I often cook very simply, getting a little more elaborate on weekends.

Life time supply of coconut oil and grass-fed beef.

Maybe some organic vegetables to garnish it and give it some more color.
