Does the seed base spices of Indian food cause digestive distress?

I like Indian food quite a bit. I am slowly learning what spices they use. Some such as fennugreek, cumin, fennel, and carraway and coriander are from seeds. Do these seeds cause digestive irrition or have high levels of omega 6?

Cumin and coriander are seed based. I'm not sure how exactly seeds effect the gut but its generally suggested to avoid them for IBS and IBD.

THere could a be a few confounding factors though. Like if you were eating Naans and other wheat products, cheeses, and dal.

I don't know about digestive distress, but curry gives me armpit distress. It makes them stinky.

I'm Indian, and Indian spices fuck me up. Is that like cosmic irony or something?

Really though, I ate Indian food for dinner almost every single day for the first 18 years of my life, and my insides always felt like they were melting and my nose would run like a firehose.

Right before leaving for college, my grandma and mom decided that they would dial the spice down. Maybe that's cosmic irony? What the heck is cosmic irony? Gonna go download the cosmic irony ipad app now.

It's funny you should ask this. For the past week, I've been on an "Indian binge" and have been making everything with a spice blend of turmeric, cumin, coriander, and saffron. For the past couple of days, I've been noticing I'm sort of bloated, slightly gassy and my intestine area has been making gurgly noises. I haven't been really introduced anything else into my diet that could be screwing with me.

So the answer is a resounding "maybe."

Certainly could. But its not due to omega 6s present in minute amounts. Seriously think what kind of dose you're getting from even an ounce of spices. Its nothing.
