I don't think any food will cause your body to burn more fat than another. Maybe caffeine-containing foods though?

I have heard that coconut oil is "a fat-burning machine."

Can't give any references to back it up, though -- sorry!

I have a hard time answering this question. I don't think there are specific foods that burn more fat or magically target specific issues. I think the great think about going paleo is realizing that the diet as a whole is much better than any individual part. As long as your eating the right foods most of the time, your body should have no problem burning fat, building muscle, and keeping you healthy.

Meat, eaten separately, or only with vegetables (so no potatoes or rice). But it's only my own experience, I don't know if it works that way for everyone.

No food is going to be a magic bullet. You can take various supplements that may raise your body temperature and/or raise your mateabolism slightly, but nothing in comparison to getting your diet and exercise right.
