Also, if something seems spam-ish...looking at someone's post history is one of the quickest ways to determine that fact.

I do apologize if anyone felt "put off" by the article, but in the recent months, fish oils have been taking quite a beating it seems and seeing this article made me wonder what PH might think...hell, we even have "The Danger of Fish Oil" as a banner! Sensationalist titles indeed.

When I posted "Has anyone Read This Recent Gary Taubes Salt Article". I Did so, to share information in an attempt to learn something about a topic that many people have confusion with, too much, too little salt?. I didn't do it for the likes, I did it, because I don't like to cherry pick paragraphs from articles; it tends to give them a slant. People have the choice to read it, or ignore it. If the now 2.2K people who have read it is me being lazy...then at least credit me with a title..King of the lazy.

possibly got down-voted because the format looked a bit 'spammy' or sensationalist/argumentative (similar to a lot of recent stuff).

(i 'cancelled out' one of the down votes yesterday).

Personally, I reserve downvoting for answers that are wrong or harmful. If you want to discourage behavior, simply ignore it.

Down voted because simply throwing a link up and asking for an opinion is lazy and shouldn't be encouraged. That's not diverse thought or providing anything.

chris kresser has done a number of posts on fish & fish oil, & fish vs fish oil.

for those that what to dig further, here's a search for "fish oil" on chriskresser.com which returns plenty of related articles.

I think there are about 12 people left on paleohacks. Very little diversity if thought.

CD, I agree and would have loved to have talked about this further, but people weren't able to tell the difference between the article posted, and that this isn't my opinion, it's the opinion of the article.

Down voting the article is one thing if people didn't agree with it, down voting me for providing it, silly.

Paleohacks use to be so much better at providing information from all aspects of health and how they could be applied to us...it's really not like that anymore..It’s a shame.

Yes, it does. A lot more preferable to simply eat wild caught, low toxicity fish though.

Maybe an observational study from the 70s was flawed (what observational study isn't?)

But there have been dozens (maybe hundreds) of clinical trails since then that have found benefit to fish oil supplementation.

Science is not about one study at one point in time. It is about evidence gathered through multiple studies and doing the same study multiple times to ensure repeatability.
