Potentially dumb question: I just got my fermented CLO/Butter oil from Green Pastures. I assumed that the FCLO/BO takes the place of the regular fish oil capsules that I had been taking... or am I wrong? Do I need to continue taking regular fish oil as well?! I had planned to slowly use up the fish oil capsules I've got when needed for inflammation, after eating crappy, etc.

You should check out the FAQ on FCLO and fish oil recently posted over at Balanced Bites. Probably more than you wanted to know about both ;).

I usually try to avoid posting totally lame answers, but in some way I kind of like this. Some people say to CLO is better because it's lower dose omega-3 and has all sorts of other micronutrients from cod liver that we might not even fully understand. Some say to avoid CLO and use fish oil because CLO might have too much vitamin A, which paleo people are getting anyway. You might consider alternating days of one and the other. Given "the dose makes the poison", you can avoid overdoing either that way, while largely getting the benefits of both. This, of course, assuming that you don't take a double dose of each to "make up" for the missing day.
To answer your question more directly, I think the fears of CLO have been addressed as we understand better that od'ing on vitamin A is less likely with good levels of D and K, both of which are in CLO/Butter oil. Meanwhile, omega 3 is not necessary or even good in a large dose if you are minimizing omega 6. So if you are avoiding veg oils, not eating bacon every day, and not pigging out on the almonds, a modest amount of your CLO/Butter is probably the way to go.
That's my understanding anyway. Looking forward to the other replies.
